Dewakan is Darren Teoh’s expression of cooking with purpose. Each dish is made with ingredients sourced from Malaysia, carefully crafted to encourage deeper appreciation for the land and culture. Darren’s philosophy is simple. Be curious, have courage, value your roots.
In April 2019, Dewakan had the honour of being the first Malaysian restaurant on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list at 46th place with the title Best Restaurant in Malaysia. In 2021, Dewakan placed 66th in the 51-100 list of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.
This year in 2022, Dewakan re-entered the list at 50th place as the Best Restaurant in Malaysia. We are extremely grateful to be acknowledged for our contribution to the dining scene in this region, and we hope our work continues to inspire genuine relationships between people and food.
